Dear Health Care Practitioner: May 15 2006
We invite you to attend our annual Restorative Medicine Conference which will be held in Stowe, Vermont, October 11-14, 2006. This conference will feature lectures and workshops by leading practitioners and a comprehensive presentation – both theoretical and practical – about Wilson’s Temperature Syndrome, Endocrinology, and Oncology. This is a great opportunity to gain valuable professional knowledge, learn new skills, and interact with other practitioners – and do all this in scenic Stowe, VT, at the height of the unforgettable New England foliage season. Full details about the conference have been included in the brochure.
We have also included a monograph of Thyroid Px to highlight labeling changes that reflect a new lower recommended starting dose, and increasing the dose as needed. This dietary supplement was introduced in January 2006. It is formulated to support healthy thyroid function and thus far, physicians and patients have been pleased with the results – normalization of body temperature and increased energy. The monograph summarizes its uses, safety, and side effects, and is based on the clinical experience of physicians throughout North America that have used Thyroid Px. If after reading the monograph you have questions or concerns, a toll free number has been provided for practitioner support. We have also enclosed our current catalog. The conference will be a wonderful learning opportunity and a great chance for professional growth. We hope to see you there.
Respectfully,
Denis Wilson MD

Thyroid Px Monograph and Safety Information
Thyroid Px was introduced in January 2006, as a dietary supplement available only to medical professionals. It is formulated to support healthy thyroid function and to manage low body temperatures due to Wilson’s Temperature Syndrome (WTS). Feedback from physicians has been very positive. Many patients have noted rapid increases in body temperature and/or normalization of body temperature and improved energy. These results were obtained without T3 supplementation or other types of thyroid hormone replacement. Although Thyroid Px contains no thyroid hormones (only nutrients and botanical cofactors for intra-thyroid and peripheral thyroid hormone activity), it is very effective and as such, caution needs to be exercised when recommending this supplement to your patients.
Dosage: Based on clinical experience, the Thyroid Px label has been updated to reflect a lower recommended starting dose, and increasing the dose as needed:
Suggested Use: One capsule, two times a day. Higher doses can be titrated based on response. Do not exceed 8 capsules a day for more than 3 months. Drug potentiation can occur with thyroid hormone supplementation. This product is to be solely used under the guidance of your physician. Discontinue the product or lower the dosage if heart palpitations or skin rashes occur.
Please be careful when recommending Thyroid Px to people with underlying cardiovascular disorders or to the elderly, as there is a possibility of occult cardiac disease. If Thyroid Px is used in these cases, start with a low dose and if it needs to be increased, do so in small increments and with close supervision. Thyroid Px may increase heart rate and can cause angina or arrhythmias, and if cardiac symptoms develop, Thyroid Px should be discontinued. Concomitant administration of stimulants may precipitate coronary insufficiency. Drug potentiation may occur if Thyroid Px is used with any type of thyroid hormone replacement. Thyroid Px is contraindicated in anyone with hypersensitivity to any of its ingredients, including iodine and guggul. The most common manifestation of sensitivity is an allergic skin rash; this typically resolves when the dose is lowered or the therapy is stopped. Skin rash due to hypersensitivity must be differentiated from detoxification symptoms that can occur from the detoxifying herbs in Thyroid Px. Anyone with thyrotoxicosis – of any etiology – should use this product cautiously. Thyroid Px is also helpful as a detoxifying agent to the endocrine system, helpful in heavy metal detoxification, and helpful in lymphatic drainage. Patients with adrenal insufficiency might also consider stronger adrenal support with an Adrenal Px product as recommended by their health care practitioner.
Iodine supplementation in some instances can cause a temporarily elevated TSH. In these circumstances, the patient should use antioxidant supplementation with Cell Nutrition Px and extra vitamin C (5 g/day vitamin C) due to the oxidative stress of thyroid peroxidase enzyme when using high amounts of Iodine. Patients should be instructed to contact their health care practitioner if unusual symptoms develop,
If you would like to discuss any aspect of Thyroid Px whether its questions, feedback or suggestions, please set up a free consultation at 800 420 5801.
