Dr. Wilson,
Is it possible I will lose weight?
P.S. My Dr. said I was the poster girl for WTS!
Thanks, Sheri
Dear Sheri,
Weight is a fairly unpredictable symptom.
If your weight came on with your other symptoms, and your other symptoms resolve then it’s possible that you will begin finding it easier to lose weight. However, you may not find it easier. Probably your best chance of losing weight more easily is with a normal temperature. If your temperature is low then you might benefit from the WT3 protocol. Nevertheless, even if the WT3 doesn’t help you lose weight, it may help prevent some of the adverse effects (like slowing of the metabolism) that can sometimes accompany dieting.
If you start feeling better then you may be able to lose weight with appropriate diet and exercise even if you haven’t been able to when you weren’t on the T3 and even if the T3 alone doesn’t cause you to lose weight.
Best regards,
Denis Wilson, MD
Dear Dr. Wilson,
I’m 43 years old I’m on Synthroid they say I have hypothyroidism. I cannot lose weight no matter what I do. I’m tired all the time. Do you think I could benefit from the WT3 protocol?
Thanks, Sally J.
Dear Sally,
If you have a low body temperature and you have symptoms of low thyroid function, I think there is a very good chance that the WT3 protocol might help you.
Kind regards,
Denis Wilson, MD
I am 74 yrs. old, am 5’2″ and weigh 180 + or – which is up or down 2-3 lbs. never really going down. I am actually pretty healthy having been working with a functional doctor for a year and a half taking scads of tests, trying to find out why I can’t lose weight when 10-15 years ago the high protein diet always worked for me.He exhausted all the supplements etc. that he had and agreed with me that maybe the missing part of the puzzle was thryoid.(He also lectures about thryoid every month or so and is well versed in this. However, he has never really thought the T3 therapy was valid but encouraged me to try it.)I went to an endo who also doesn’t use T3 but did put me on Armour thryoid – 30 mg. per day. I have taken this along with your Thryocare and see no difference (oh my thryoid tests all show “normal”) after almost 2 months.I am not fatigued like some people but feel slightly sluggish at times and wish I had more motivation. I have taken my temperature like you suggest all this time and it has only gone to 98.6 six times. It varies from a couple of days 96.4 and the majority of time is in the 97 exact or plus area with some 98.0 to 98.4. Is this still considered low temp and do you have any advice for me. My eyebrows have always seemed to be short by 1/3,altho my skin is oily not dry. I would love to go to a doctor who you suggest in your newsletter, but none of them are on Medicare and that is why I went to a regular endo. I could not afford their fees. Thank you.
Hello :), Yes 98.0 – 98.6 can still be low and can still explain symptoms. Sometimes people benefit by depleting their bodies of T4 by using T3 alone. Best Regards :)
